God lovingly whispered “Lean in, child”

Have you ever found yourself passing through a valley where your dreams are shattered and your hopes are destroyed? The valley where we find that dreams die there. Relationships die there too. Marriage ends. Jobs lost. The valley where we come face to face with our

fears, anxiety and overwhelming thoughts. We try to ignore and deny those emotions by often filling our days to the point that we don’t have any more room to feel or think about anything or anyone else.

I have been in such season of busyness where everything is moving so fast and it is in those times when I find myself ignoring emotions that come my way. I find myself suppressing all emotional involvement to the cost of becoming numb.

But I came to a point where I could not keep on running away and felt like God lovingly

whispered into my heart to stop and to lean in His hands and to allow myself to experience

such emotions. I came to a point where I had to surrender and allow Him to embrace me in

my weakness, in my hurts, in my doubts, in my fears. God uses the seasons of life to speak in those little moments. It’s like a natural new beginning where He invites us to delve deeper

into our heart in an intentional way. I always amaze myself to see how the Lord moves in my

life – it just seems to be a new space where He wants to speak. When God has something to

say to us He really wants us to prepare ourselves to receive that word!

We have to believe that God has something for us in this season. We should constantly ask:

what does God want from me now? How does He want me to respond to this?

Let’s lean into what God is doing in the here and now. Keep the invitation open. Allow

yourself to be interrupted. Look around at the people, answered prayers, conversations and

places that you see God’s hand in. Stop for a minute and write down what God is revealing

to you.

My hope is that you can immerse yourself in the things that God is doing in the here and

now, lean into how you feel. God is there waiting to embrace you with open arms.
